Research by Sirota Survey Intelligence (of Sirota Consulting LLC) indicates that the vast majority of employees are quite enthusiastic when they start in a new job, but then ? after barely six months in the position - their morale sharply declines and continues to deteriorate thereafter. How can that be? Isn?t worker motivation a fundamental concern of modern management sciences? It seems that managers don't just have to motivate their employees but, rather, to stop demotivating them.

Parece haber un consenso sobre la necesidad de un nuevo modelo de desarrollo econ?mico para nuestro pa?s. Cada vez se habla m?s entre la cuidadan?a de desarrollar una econom?a basada en el conocimiento, en contraste con una econom?a tradicional basada en la ?mano de obra de bajo costo?. Se reconoce que ya no tenemos los elementos requeridos para ser competitivos bajo ese modelo tradicional. ?Entendemos sin embargo los requisitos y las implicaciones de migrar a una "econom?a del conocimento"?

La desconfianza tiene efectos devastadores. Drena la energía de cualquier grupo donde arrecia. Desgraciadamente, en estos tiempos de cambios y controversias, la difusión de la desconfianza parecería ser para algunos medios de comunicación un ‘negocio redondo’. Ante esas influencias, hay que buscar defensas. El uso y desarrollo de nuestra Inteligencia Emocional podría ser clave.
